So I live in ****** *****, in Omaha. The neighborhood association was debating trying to force me out in 2010 when I went up on the registry. However, I talked to them in person, and was able to calm down ruffled feathers.
As you may remember, they then invited me to join Citizen's Patrol. I did join Citizen's patrol, until the stupid Omaha Police decided to kick me out, because they don't want sex offenders on the Patrol. So I am no longer there.
I then ran for a board position earlier this year, there were 3 open positions. 8 people put their name in for those 3 spots. The way that works, every person puts their name in, and goes around getting votes. They then order the candidates by the number of votes. The top 3 vote getters were elected. I was #4.
Well, a person just resigned due to 'personal issues'. So, since I was #4, I am automatically offered a position. So I am now a member of the board for our neighborhood association. One of my elected duties is to maintain the website for our neighborhood association. Tonight will be my first board meeting.
Interesting how things turn around. Of course, it probably helps that I really try hard to change people's minds about me.
Now if I can just get Citizen's Patrol figured out. I am still battling that one, but I'm fighting the police department on that, so that's going to be tough.
