How does this case highlight the importance of a registry that does nothing? Even if Mr. Blanks had been fully compliant with the registration, he would have been allowed to visit the home of Ms. Burns. While visiting he could easily have gotten in to a conflict with the murder victim, and the victim would likely still be dead. This case has nothing to do with the registry whatsoever. There is no way the registry would have prevented this murder, and the registry did nothing to help in the resolution of this case. The registry is a useless waste of taxpayer dollars, and it's high time that we get that through our thick skulls.
